Four Pillars ‘Positive Peers’ HIV group is set up to offer peer support to individuals living with HIV across Grampian. This group meets on a monthly basis and carries out various activities from coffee days, museum visits to hill walking and bowling and more. Whilst together individuals will discuss living with HIV, concerns, medication, relationships, work and more. From time to time Four Pillars will organise professionals to come and talk to the group and offer advice and support. Individuals in the group can also arrange 1-2-1 sessions with a trained Four Pillars volunteer to discuss matters they are not wishing to share amongst the group.

Four Pillars ‘TransParent’ group is a support group for parents with transgender children. It is noted that there is no age limit to this group and your “child” may well already be in their 40s. Four Pillars recognise that no matter the age they will still be your “child” and you want the best for them. In that this group offers peer support and education to all. The group meet monthly and share information on learning about what it means for their child to be transgender and how best they can support their child.

Four Pillars have teamed up with Grampian T-Folk to offer a peer social group for the transgender community. The Group will meet monthly and offer activities such as peer support, building relationships, educational activities, best practice advice, and professional visits to the group: such as voice coaching, NHS professionals and more.

Four Pillars have joined partnership with Badminton Scotland to offer free taster sessions and coaching at RGU Sport on the first Sunday of each month. The aim of the group is to bridge the gap between the LGBTI community and sport. Offer coaching sessions to build confidences which will allow individuals to move into mainstream sport clubs across Grampian.

Four pillars ‘Out & About’ group is a social group open to all. Its aim is to allow individuals to meet others within the community they otherwise wouldn’t. Build relationships, grow confidences and improve the quality of life for its members. The Group meet once a month and carry out various activities including: coffee, meals & museum visits to hill walking & bowling to name a few. The members of the group decide where they are going next and when they will meet (usually a time that suits the majority) this will then be posted here and on Four Pillars Facebook events page.
